TWO CHARGED WITH RETAIL THEFT The Canton Police Department responded to a retail theft complaint, at approximately 5:37 p.m. Monday, at Dollar General, 134 E. Chestnut St., Canton. Store employees informed officers that two females had stolen a stuffed animal and several food items from the store prior to the officer's arrival. A subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of Christa M. Brown, 19, and a 16-year-old female. The two females were processed at Canton Police Department. The 16-year-old female was released to the custody of her guardian. Brown was unable to post bond and was transported to the Fulton County Jail to await an appearance before a judge.................................. POLICE ROUNDUP............................... Three arrested for burglary to cars......... Three Canton residents have been arrested for their connection with several burglary to motor vehicle complaints. Canton police received several burglary to motor vehicle complaints in the West Elm and West Chestnut streets neighborhood. Canton police received another burglary to motor vehicle complaint in the 200 Block of West Elm Street on Feb. 20. A 2002 Chevy Tahoe was entered and a cell phone was taken in the evening hours of Jan. 19. Further investigation by police led to the arrest of two Canton females. Rebecca Kaufmann, 23, of 64 W. Spruce St., and Christa Brown, 18, of 229 W. Spruce St. were arrested for being in possession of stolen cell phones which were taken from parked motor vehicles. T. Christopher Evans, 17, of 229 W. Spruce St., was charged with five counts of burglary to a motor vehicle for cars being entered on Jan. 19. Both Brown and Evans were being held in the Fulton County Jail pending a first appearance in court. Police would like to remind citizens to keep their vehicles locked when they are unoccupied
