Lots of new ones
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: House of Pain - Jump Around
Topic: New
I'm actually really sleepy, so I don't think I will write too much. This first one is one I did just now. I inverted a random piece of grunge I had lying around and it came out brown... its really hard to get colour balance layers to go brown. Especially this nice shade. Render on the right is made sepia toned with the artistic effect.

I was feeling very angry when I made the next two. I am very annoyed at the elitism crap involved in online gaming. I read some of the biggest BS by this one guy... he has his head so far up his ass its ridiculous. I will probably never wear these sigs cause they're a bit mean.

New stuff
Mood:  down
Topic: New
made some new ones....... mostly completely random ones... i am thinking about making a post on various forums to request ppl find me the pics that i need for my ideas. cause once again i can't find a pic that i am inspired to make a sig for.

also... i am getting tired of getting no feedback ever. i might have to post a thread or two on the ls forums cause at least i get some comments there. my last thread at psycholand has actually been deleted, though it didn't have a single comment anyway. i really doubt that i am so good that my work renders everybody speechless, so what is the problem? and of course no one ever posts on kd. well they have a few times just recently...

anyways have made a few today....

here they are...

Discovering PSP9
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Its after midnight....
Topic: New
Woah, got distracted there for a minute...

I was kinda sad that PSP7 can't cope with prerendered images, but I managed to get it to work in PSP9. Since I can't render anything in 9 that is kinda cool. However, I only have the default brush pack to go with. There are some nice ones though - marble.

Now Playing: Nothing - after midnight :P
Topic: Web graphics
I have been working all day on graphics for my webpage. I made a new banner and a set of buttons. I also finished off a sig. The banner and buttons can be seen on my homepage.

Probably the last Christmas/gift sigs I do for a while. Sorry to anyone who might have expected a gift sig. The reason for this is that it is just so boring working only in red and green and doing exactly the same thing over and over again and trying to create an original finished product. Suffering from sig-making burnout. This is why I haven't set myself up as a sig request person!

Can't be bothered saying what I did to make these. Its the same as always.

I got myself a photobucket account! Username=Pocodot

Asuka sig.
I still only have girly brushes. I started out with a black background, which I brushed on in white. Once I had completed that I started adding colour balance layers. Mostly they are cyan, green and blue. There is a shadow layer and a highlight layer in there too somewhere.

Once I achieved an acceptable colour, I floodfilled each colour balance layer in black, then brushed again with white. This creates an interesting merging of colours and depth in the background.

I added the Asuka render and it seemed to match nicely but was too tropical for a Christmas sig. I decided to keep it though and make it an Aussie Christmas sig.

Stars sig.
This was by request. From my experience with the Asuka sig, I knew that if I didn't set some limits I was going to end up with another gorgeous blue background that was completely useless for a Christmas sig. I decided to limit myself to red and green only.

I did the usual brushing white on black then the colour balance layers. Only three layers this time. Red and more red. In midtone, highlight and shadow. I then brushed on the colour balance layers to make an interesting effect.

That render, while very cute, was extremely difficult to use. I couldn't cut it out. Sooo low res. I ended up just doing it messily and then using the eraser tool to clean it up.

I thought the text looked kinda cool on an angle. Like a Christmas card.

Gallery link.
I used a preexisting piece of grunge as the background and added text. Simple.

New Blog, New Sigs
Mood:  down
Now Playing: Sweatshop Union
Topic: Gifts
I thought that it would be nice to post each new sig that I make here with an almost-tutorial on how to make it. I hope that this will be helpful for anyone who might happen to be reading this. It might be helpful for me too, if I accidentally delete something.

Here are the sigs that I have made today, all gifts:

This sig involves the use of many different brushes on colour balance layers and on the original first layer. The render does not particularly match the pink background which is why I chose to fade it a little. The lower text is a little hard to read, even when outlined in black, inner bevelled metallic and shadowed in black. Brushes from beautiful-sin.net.

This is another sig that involves much use of brushes on colour balance layers. I am not certain I am happy with the colour the background turned out. I like the render and think it is quite amusing placed with the text.

Once again, I created the background using a mix of grunge brushes from beautiful-sin.net and colour balance layers. I like the mix of colour achieved in this sig.

I created the background using grunge brushes and colour balance layers. I blended the render carefully and went over the whole sig with a small round brush to create the 'lights/snow' effect.
