I purchased this Ludwig Hollywood set “New” in early 1976, with the Sparkle Gold pearl finish. I would guess the set to be manufactured in 1975. The interior of this set received the interior granitone paint. The description from the manufacturer for this set reads like this: Ludwig’s “Twin” tom tom outfits have really captured the imagination of today’s modern “Rock” drummers. The HOLLYWOOD features the new all–angle retracting double tom tom holder that provides complete angle and height adjustment for mixed tom tom sizes. The popular SUPRA-PHONIC “400” 5” x 14” metal snare drum, 14” x 22” Bass Drum, 8” x 12” and 9” x 13” mounted Tom Toms, 16” x 16” Floor Tom Tom, the famous 201 Speed King pedal and curved retracting spurs are standard. I have taken very good care of this set. I played the set in church thru 2001. Since that period of time, the set has been stored inside, not being used. The set has all the original drum heads, used but still in good condition. My cymabals are as follows: Zildian Avedis 22” Thin Ride, Zildian Avedis 18” Med Ride, Zildian Schimitar 16” Crash, Zildian Avedis 12” splash, Zildian Avedis 16” HiHat. Floor Tom has a bow-out on the skin where it seams together. It was like that when I bought it new. The marks on the bass drum on the pedal side is from masking tape that held a pad on the drum to soften the sound.
