How we see the history, teaches us to see the world today: the different options that we have, the different roles that we can take as humans. So in a way we take as a model to ourselves the things that we see in the history, especially those things that were its major forces. So it is best to see the rationality in history and to take that to be a model for ourselves and not the savage-likedness. There are similar things in the world today and we try to solve them via rationally protecting the valuable human lives and disappearing cultures with all their wisdom.
