remember when my heart was all a flutter
dreams of love on every Valentine’s Day,
the anxious moments - all the waiting;
see and go, by what the daises say.
lived awhile and found a few good answers.
‘love’ is truly different for me now;
know its not a ‘feeling’ I encounter -
a decision made to keep a vow.
world would say when you lose certain feelings,
time to move on - seek some newer thrill;
its easy to prove my conviction,
Greatest Lover testifies of ‘will’.
Everlasting Valentine decided
love and win my heart and save my soul;
I was unaware of His conviction -
no attempt to validate His goal.
He persistently continued loving,
it led Him up a rugged hill -
put aside - He kept His purpose,
died that awful death to pay my bill.
know that if I asked the Lord, He’d tell me
a thing that you decide to do.
walk in with both your eyes wide open,
give you life, - you love them more than you."
what He did, Friend, even with tears brimming -
loved us more than even His own life,
faced God all alone with our sins showing...
paid our awful debt for sin and strife.
was an act of daring consequences,
surrender - all His heart He filled
saved a world...He published Love’s Sweet Story -
His unselfish act...of His own will!
