School Auction Projects

Every year we help schools create auction projects. Simply come in and select the bisque. We take 10% off the cost of any auction project. We then supply the paints for you to take out to the class. Bring back the paints when you return to fire the auction piece.

There are many different ways to create your auction piece. One of the most popular is to have the kids make self portraits. There are 3 ways to create this design. Have the children paint themselves directly on the platter, have the children sketch their portraits in pencil and have an adult paint their designs, or the kids can draw on pre-sized pieces of paper and Paint Pots employees will copy the drawings onto the platter for you. There is an extra fee to have an employee paint for you. It varries based on the size and complexity of the design.

Another option usually used for older kids is to pick a theme and have each child paint a design onto the auction item. In the above example the ornaments around the rim are done by the kids and Paint Pots owner Laura added the children's names and the designs in the center.

Another really popular auction design is the use of the kids fingerprints. Finger prints can be turned into many designs so they are great to adapt to a theme. The vase above used bugs and flowers, but others have used aquatic motifs including ducks, fish, frogs, and turtles.

Fingerprints can also be used to make murals on auction items. This is a good technique if you are looking for a less "cute" auction item.

Finally, we can custom order mirrors with tile frames. Wood and Metal frames are available and they hold 14 4.25 inch tiles or 10 6 inch tiles.

Some other fun auction ideas include using fingerprints to make grape bunches, or painting a cookie jar with cookies and using the kids fingerprints to make chocolate chips on the cookies.
