PACE Center for Girls Hillsborough

Practical Academic Cultural Education

Girls are struggling to identify themselves. With issues such as pregnancy, drug abuse, theft, domestic violence, lack of medical care and gang violence it is no wonder that the rate of females in the Department of Juvenile Justice in Florida is rising.

The state of Florida recognized that the number of females involved in the juvenile justice system was increasing and there was a need for intervention.

PACE Center for Girls was their answer.

PACE Center for Girls is a female gender-based program for girls ages 12-18. PACE is a year round program designed to assess and help alleviate behavioral problems and improve academic success and self-esteem among girls. There are currently 19 Centers located in the state of Florida.

The teachers and social workers at PACE Hillsoborough go above beyond the call of duty daily to create an environment that is safe and nurturing for their students.

Research shows that with intervention girls have higher self-esteem, improved behavior and are more likely to complete school.

Every girl is someone's daughter, niece, sister, mother, aunt and/or wife. PACE Hillsborough staff works continuously on keeping their student's dreams alive.

We would like to encourage you to help us honor the female spirit.
