HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR YA'LL
Mood:
celebratory
I hope that all of ya'll had a Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year. It is great to be alive in 2007. I have been so busy that this is the first time I have been on the website in a while. I don't know about all of ya'll but I am ready for us to get together. I had such a great time and really enjoyed seeing everyone. I know that it may not be possible for everyone to come so soon after the last one but maybe those that can will. Ya'll let me know what ya'll think about this so we can start working on it. Also, remind and encourage everyone to continue posting on the site so we can stay in touch with each other. And if you know how to find someone that wasn't at the last reunion, post on website, email me or call me.
Later,

Now Playing: Thanksgiving week in Monroe
Topic: Class get together
Thanks go to Scott and Renee for hosting a party at their beautiful home for a few classmates who were in Monroe for Thanksgiving. Amoung the usual suspects in attendance were Tim Hardin and his wife, Mike Cohn, David Blackwelder and his girlfriend (or daughter), Twanna, Alan Tannehill and his wife and special guest Pam(Akin)who missed the reunion. Pam looked great and showed us a picture of her 14-year old daughter who is stunning. Blackwelder and Tannehill left the next day for the LSU game in Little Rock where they met up with David Templeton who came through with tickets for them in the Arkansas section. It was a great weekend and we all got to talk about the great time we all had at the reunion.
We lost a classmate
I read in the News Star this weekend the obituary of Glenn Kennedy. For those of you that remember Glenn, he was quite the artist as a young guy, even back at Jack Hayes. He has done some extra special art works in this area and has also been teaching art. He was like a local legend in the art field.

A Great Surprise

Hello,
I just want to keep in touch with everyone and seeing how ya'll are doing. But boy did I get a WONDERFUL SURPRISE along with Scott Miller, my husband and myself last Friday night. We had dinner with Mike O'Hara and had a great great time of talking about old times. Mike has made it a standing date every time he comes through Monroe-West Monroe area he will call and maybe some other can go with us to dinner. It was so wonderful to see and talk with him. I think he looks the same but he did grow into that voice on the phone.
Later.

Dear Dirty Thirtys,
If yall are still out there, here's an update on the football team. The dismal team that we watched on our Tailgate Night is no longer the same football team. They had some "undesirables" on the team that didn't know the meaning of some key words, like respect, dicipline, character, pride, and several more. I think that they have been eliminated from the team. The team that we watched was, well, no other way to put it, it was AWFUL! Since that time, Ouachita is 4-0 in district and beat Neville a couple of weeks ago. Bastrop is also 4-0 in district and will come to Ouachita and play for the District Championship this Friday night. Bastrop probably has too much to contend with, but it has been a remarkable turnaround from what we had the misfortune to see. There was definitely some changes needed and it seemed to have really helped this team.. I would love to be there, but unfortunately football season and hunting season conflict, so some of yall go and watch for me.
Just thought yall might be interested, and everyone leave an occasional comment on this site to let us know that everybody is still "out there" and kicking!

Just a short note to let those of ya'll who ordered pictures that they were mailed today. The pictures really turned out GREAT. But because of the number in the picture it is a 8 X 11 instead of a 8 X 10. It you don't get your picture by next Friday please let me know. Also, if there is still some that would like to have a picture, just let me know. I ordered a few more just in case someone wanted one. Just put the $15 in the mail to me and I will sent it out to you.
And again I want to thank everyone for making this such a great reunion for all of us. Hope to see all of ya'll in about 2 years.

Hey, everybody it has taken me this long to gather my thoughts about the REUNION. I had the time of my life working on the reunion and it was important to me for several reasons. The tailgate party and the Saturday Night are very hard to put into words.
"JUST A BLESSING" It was a wonderful to see and talk with all of ya'll. Even if some of my classmates don't remember some of great times we had. Yes, Marilyn Johnson, Mary Lee Carter, and Gail Wood maybe older, but I don't forget. HA!!! HA!!!! It is still hard for me to believe that it has been 30 years since we graduated from OPHS.
Now I would like to thank everyone that help make this the
BEST reunion I think we have ever had. First, for those of you who don't know Scott Miller is the reason we had a 30 year reunion. He took the ball and the rest of us just followed him.
Thank You Scott. Ok, for the others Twanna Roberts(Patience's right hand) who try to see that everyone had a name tag with a pictures. Mike Duncan the tailgate party wouldn't be the same without you cooking for us and the GREAT BIO BOOKS that you put together for us. Thanks. Wes, thanks for the banner and the T-Shirts they were great and I will forever treasure it. Also, thanks for taking all the pictures for us,GREAT!! GREAT!! And the wonderful web site to view them. Tim Hardin, thanks for hanging in there with me, calling
classmates and getting information to me. In thanking everyone, I can't forget the ones who help me decorate the VFW HALL,Twanna Roberts, Marilyn Johnson(friend Louis), Marilyn Ryan, Demetria Roberts, Rene Gallien,Yvonne Crozier, and of course Scott Miller. Thank Ya'll Thank you, Kim Nicholas for calling, checking on places and the catering.
If I have left out thanking anyone I apolize, because I didn't mean to.
Also, the pictures will be mailed out next week, had soon last minutes calls for them and wanted to try to mail all at one time.
This reunion has left me with some wonderful memories that I will forever treasure and it is thanks to all of ya'll.THANK YA'LL. One last thought may God continue to
Bless US and keep us safe till the next reunion.
Stay in Touch,
Patience
