Footsteps
are coming
It’s
them!
Stay
away!
Door
closes
Footsteps
get closer
Oh
God!
He
puts his fingers through my hair
“It’s
going to be okay,” he says
Then
he leaves me
He
flips the switch
Ah!
The
light is blinding!
“Tell
me what you see,” he says
It
all seems so faint
I
can barely see
I’m
struggling
But
I must speak
I
don’t know.” I said
“Come
on,” says he
“You
can do better.”
*Nai,
I can’t
Can’t
he see that?!?
Is
he blind?
Or
does he care?
“A
white screen.” I say at last
“Very
good.” he says
“You’re
doing fine,”
Then
he shuts off the light
Grabs
me by the arm
And
takes me away
*Nai means “No” in Japanese
