1) There is only one God:John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
1Cor 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 2) God is a Trinity:1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. *** for all those who deny that this verse belongs in the Bible: i) Quoted by (the Church Father) Cyprian (200-258 AD) ii) In Old Latin Bible (not the Catholic one) of North Italy which was translated by the Pre-Waldensian Church by 157 AD *** "Holy Ghost" is the old term for the Holy Spirit
1Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:
2Cor 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 3) There are no gods before or after God:Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 4) Jesus is the ONLY way to God the Father:John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 1Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 5) Salvation is a FREE gift of God:Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. So, faith is NOT works. We accept by faith, the gift of God - our salvation! 6) God created everything:Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Isaiah 44:24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; 7) TESTING THE SPIRITS: ****NB****1John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
The question one would then ask the spirit (NOT THE PERSON!!!!) is: "Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who came in the flesh, was crucified as a sacrifice for our sin, and rose again from the dead, victorious over death and sin?" Any negative answers : WATCH OUT - You could be dealing with a demon.
Remember also that a demon can use the possessed person's voice to reply in order to deceive you. It could say :"He believes that..." Always remember that you must be RIGHT WITH GOD before taking on a demon!! READ Acts 19:13-17 to see what happened to those who tried to cast out demons in Jesus' name but who were not truly believers. SCARY!!
8) What is the Gospel?
1Cor 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:
9) Jesus is God in the flesh:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10) Jesus has risen in a physical body:
1Cor 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
11) Jesus has a dual nature:Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 1Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 13) Jesus Christ bore our sins:
1John 2:2 And he is the propitiation { =atonement or atoning sacrifice } for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 14) The Holy Spirit is GOD :
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 While it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
15) Jesus Christ died ONE time only as a sacrifice to redeem mankind:
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;
16) There will be a final judgement:
2Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (for many more references : see my Rapture page)
17) The damned will be thrown into a Lake of Fire:Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. 18) There will be a new heaven and a new earth:
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. More:
19)Man did not evolve, he was Created:
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
20) God is:
Immutable (unchanging) :
Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; Omniscient (knows everything):1Jo 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Omnipotent (all powerful):Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Jer 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Jer 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
Omnipresent (everywhere):(note - NOT IN everything!!)
Jer 23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
Psa 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
Sovereign:
1Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Spirit:John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 21) The Bible is inspired by God:
2Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
22) Jesus was born of a virgin:
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
