Hello everyone,

Thank your signing up for the internal mooting competition. The date for Round 1 has been set for the 25th of January. As we have 8 competing teams and therefore 4 moots (Moot A, B, C and D) for Round 1, Tolu is hoping to organize two rooms for us, with two teams reporting to each room. Your judges will be Chris Ashford and Alan Reed.

Although Tolu is still in the process of figuring out the available rooms, we will be aiming for a 1 pm show-up time for all teams. Ideally, 2 moots will be held in different rooms at the same time, and once those are completed the next two will begin. This means that for approximately the first hour and twenty minutes the contestants of the second set of moots (C, D for example) will be asked to remain on stand-by (I hope that makes sense!). Since there is has been no decision on who will go first, it is crucial that everyone is on time at 1pm and it would be wise to clear up about 3 hours of your time for this (i.e.1 pm - 4 pm).

Also, your authorities and points will be due on the 23rd by 11am in an email to me. I will then distribute them to your opponent team and vice versa. Make sure that you have a maximum of 6 authorities (preferrably cases, although reputable texts may also be accepted), and that your skeleton arguments are outlined clearly and correctly. Please try to get these in on time, as failure to do so may earn you disqualification.

I realize that this may be confusing and please feel free to Email Me or Email Tolu with any questions you may have. You should expect another email fairly soon with details as to which rooms you will need to report to.

I think that covers everything. You should be receiving the moot problem soon. One other thing to remember is that this is extra-curricular activity so try and enjoy it! It'll be great practice for not just for your degree but for your career!

Best regards,
