PGSM - Act Thirty-Six
Usagi and Mamoru hurry into Minako's already-in-progress concert. She's singing Romance and wearing a plastic dress and orange cowboy hat.
Suddenly the room goes blurry and she faints
Theme Song
At the hospital, Usagi and the other three are upset because they can't visit Minako. The guard says that it's only because she's tired, not because she's seriously hurt.
As Usagi, Ami, Rei and Makoto leave the hospital, Usagi is bummed because she wanted to give Minako a present - now that she knows Minako is Sailor Venus.
Ami admits that they've known for a long time who Minako is.
Usagi is upset that they didn't tell her, because she might have taken advantage of the situation - seeing as how she's a really big Minako fan. And... she probably would have.
As they leave, Rei casts a worried look back at the hospital.
Meanwhile, in the Dark Kingdom, Beryl is mad at Kunzite and Zoisite. Zoisite tried to team up with the senshi (I don't know why she'd be mad at him for trying to erase Usagi's memories of Mamoru though) and Kunzite tried to squish Mio.
So she blasts at them for a good eight seconds, reducing them to their knees. (It's one of the few times that either of them is positioned lower than her)
She says that it's futile to defy her, and that even though she's mad at them, she will let them stay alive.
But she does make them vanish from the throne room.
Jadiete apologizes for not being able to bring Endymion back to her, but she's not mad at him. She has a plan B.
She calls out for Nephrite, who has been lurking around in the shadows somewhere since Act Thirty Three.
Nephrite hurries out and hurries over to Beryl, promising to be even more loyal than before if she will return her favor to him.
Beryl looks pleased by that, and she calls the shitennou a treasure.
Usagi is talking on the phone as she walks in for breakfast.
Her mom asks if she's talking to her boyfriend. She knows that Usagi has a boyfriend.
Usagi says that his name is Mamoru, and her mother immediately starts coming up with nicknames for him, like "Mamamamo" or "Mamori" and he must call Usagi "UsaUsa."
Her mother is delighted and her brother is disgusted.
But Usagi realizes that she doesn't have a nickname for Mamoru - in fact, she doesn't call him anything. Not even his name.
She goes out to meet him for shopping. She sees Mamoru waiting for her, and is about to call out to him, when her mother pops up (flash-back style) and starts saying all of the nicknames again.
So finally Usagi just calls out "Oy!" and runs over to him.
To the tune of "Here we go" they go shopping. Mamoru really is a good boyfriend; he lets Usagi drag him into clothing stores. A manikin falls on top of him.
Then they decide to move onto the flower shop and show various bouquets of flowers to each other.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Minako is playing on her laptop when she hears a knock.
It's Rei, who stands awkwardly in the doorway until Minako invites her in.
Minako decides to reveal the truth to Rei about her sickness.
A flower petal drops dramatically.
Minako says that she probably only has three months left to live. Artemis is sad.
She has accepted her fate.
Rei hasn't - she says that surely something can be done. There has to be some way that Minako will recover.
Minako says that there is a risky surgery, but she doesn't want to try it because it's so risky.
Rei does not accept this.
That's why Minako is so serious about her task as a senshi. It's all she has to live for. There's a flashback to Minako meeting Artemis for the first time - much like how Usagi met Luna in the very first episode.
But sometimes, Minako's illness gets the best of her, and she has to go to the hospital. That's why she needs Mars's help.
The most important thing is to keep the tragedy from the past from repeating.
Rei is not happy.
Usagi and Mamoru have decided on a book to give Minako to cheer her up.
As they're on their way to the hospital, Usagi gets side tracked by a jewelry store. She sees a pretty watch with the moon on it.
She calls for Mamoru, but he doesn't look up because he doesn't realize that she's calling for him. He asks why she just doesn't use his name. Has she forgotten it already?
She tells him to stop acting like how he used to act - back when she thought he was a jerk and she storms off in a huff, leaving behind one very confused former Tuxedo Kamen.
Usagi flops down on a bench. Mamoru dangles the watch that she was admiring in front of her. He says that he hadn't gotten her a present yet. Well now he has.
Usagi promptly stops being mad at him, and they cuddle.
Beryl is thinking about the past. She always called for Endymion to come to her, but he liked the Moon Princess much better. Flash back to Endymion running on Serenity while a younger, somewhat blurry, Beryl watches from behind a pillar.
But this time will be different. This time, Endymion will be hers.
Mamoru is walking along alone when he sees a blurry Mio speaking in reverb come up to him.
She says to come with her - his shitennou are waiting.
Beryl also sends a summons out to the princess.
At Crown, Usagi suddenly stands up. She says someone is calling her, and she rushes out of the room. Ami grabs Luna, and she and Makoto follow.
One of them calls Rei, and she heads over to join them.
All of them go running to.... Some field somewhere where Mamoru and Mio are standing.
Mio starts speaking with Beryl's voice, and Black Flower petals surround her, and she vanishes.
Beryl appears behind him. She says that she has been waiting for a long time to see him again.
Sailor Moon and the other three come running in - and all look confused.
Venus and Artemis arrive a few seconds later.
Beryl orders Sailor Moon to leave Endymion to her. Mamoru is not impressed.
Beryl holds out her hands and the shitennou appear around her. Kunzite and Zoisite look really confused, but Nephrite and Jadiete are ready for battle.
Everyone strikes their various battle poses.
And then comes the major plot twist - The shitennou draw their weapons on themselves as Beryl takes full control over their bodies.
Beryl says that if she wanted them to, the shitennou would kill themselves. She tells Mamoru that if he does not come with her, she will kill the shitennou.
Beryl says that ever since long ago, she has loved him. She knows that Endymion will not let his shitennou down.
Kunzite is not impressed. He tells Beryl that he does not serve Endymion any longer, but she just moves his sword closer to cutting his throat.
Mamoru can't take it anymore.
Sailor Moon says that Beryl can't threaten someone into loving her. Her response: the shitennou start glowing with power of their respective colors and blast at the senshi.
The girls put up a shield, so they aren't hurt - just sort of thrown to the ground.
Beryl is getting impatient, and she puts the shitennou in danger again.
Mamoru slowly walks towards her.
Jadiete and Nephrite are confused by this. Kunzite - still the strongest - manages to break free of Beryl's power, and he goes to attack Mamoru, but Beryl freezes him again.
Zoisite tells Mamoru to go back.
Mamoru has reached Beryl, and she is about to set her long-finger nailed hands on his shoulders when Sailor Moon's tiara starts to glow.
She orders Beryl not to touch him - in a slightly lower pitch and a lot more authoritative.
Mamoru and the girls all look to Sailor Moon in confusion.
She transforms into her princess dress for a few seconds, and then starts to glow.
Gold light sprays out from her and the Dark Kingdom crew all shield their eyes.
It's time for Usagi's new transformation sequence.
Flash back to the Moon Kingdom, with Sailor Moon standing motionless on the steps. Behind her, the Moon Princess walks forward, passing through Sailor Moon.
A new version of Sailor Moon appears - with a fuller skirt, a silver crown, and a long white bow on her back. (I don't know how she doesn't step on it). She is now Princess Sailor Moon
Beryl is confused, and she blasts at Princess Sailor Moon twice.
But when the flames clear, she's still standing.
Beryl orders the shitennou to blast her.
A sword appears in Princess Sailor Moon's hand and she casually catches their power on her sword and tosses it aside - making other things off to the side blow up.
She does all of this without changing her expression.
Beryl tells Princess Sailor Moon to stop her, and blasts at her a few more times, but Princess Sailor Moon just deflects her attacks and keeps walking.
Then when she gets close enough (Or just gets tired of deflecting Beryl's attacks) Princess Sailor Moon tries an offensive attack of her own. She raises her sword and creates a white ball of power around her.
With her sword, she cuts a star shaped design in the ball and throws it at Beryl.
Beryl tells Mamoru to stop Princess Sailor Moon - because obviously he can. She says that if he won't...
Nephrite suddenly turns his sword towards himself. He watches as it glows with power and then he watches as his sword skewers him.
He collapses.
Everyone is shocked - they didn't think that Beryl would actually make good on her threat.
Almost numbly, Mamoru walks over to Princess Sailor Moon and hugs her.
He calls for Usagi to come back. For her to return to normal.
Princess Sailor Moon glows and reverts all the way back to Usagi.
Mamoru and the senshi look relieved, but Usagi just looks sort of dazed.
Beryl calls for Endymion again. He turns to Usagi and regards her silently for a moment before slowly turning and walking to Beryl.
Usagi calls out his name.
He turns back to her and tells her that he'll be back.
Beryl looks creepily happy and vanishes, taking the shitennou and Mamoru with her.
Usagi sadly looks down at the watch that Mamoru gave her, and then she faints.
Mercury tries to comfort her as a tear runs down Usagi's cheek.
Mars nearly starts crying herself. All this because of their stupid past life.
