Hawaii's Child

LOOKING FOR HELP! 24 years ago on January 21, 1982 an Angel was sent home to heaven. This story is a sad one that get sadder and sadder, but with some hope left it may have a justice ending. Lisa Au was a happy, lively 19 year old just beging life when it was so tragicly taken from her. The begining: Lisa is at work happily talking about going to dinner at her boyfriends sisters house. Co-workers where concern about Lisa driving at night and in stormy wheather, Lisa just receive her driver licence 3 days before, but being young and in love she just said it will be O.K. Being a Local girl, born and raised in Hawaii, Lisa stop at the store to buy "Poke" (raw fish with sea weed) it is a local custom to bring something with you, when you have been invited to some ones house. This is a very important fact, you'll understand later. Lisa arrives at Chrissy apartment (boy friend's sister), she check her car in with security and goes up to apartment where she give her gift of poke. They eat dinner talk story for a little while then things start to go wrong. Lisa seen running away from Doug and Chrissy, Lisa is crying but still goes back up to apartment with them. later car is gone, but no one saw who drove it away. Next morning alarms go off, Lisa didn't come home, her roommate is worried, calls Lisa's Family and Doug. No ones heard from her. Dougs drives to Kailua to look for her, He finds her car on the side of the road, is looks in side, no Lisa, but her wallet is on passenger seat and the Poke is in the back seat of the car (never take back a gift) . Doug drive to Lisa's familys house to tell them and call Police . Doug and Lisa's father return to the car where they meet Police. Car is dusted for prints, but they find nothing everything has been wiped clean, not even Dougs finger prints, after he searched the car you would expect to find his. The Search for LIsa: 10 days of pure living hell, the entire island of Oahu searhed for Lisa, the military had hundred of solders looking for her. Lisa'a family pleaded for thier daughters return, rewards where posted, everthing we could do we did it. Body Found: January 31, 1982 a jogger with his dog discovers Lisa nude boby under some bushes down a hill. (Lisa was last seen wearing Chrissy's clothes, she had gotten wet and changed before dinner). Eye witness reports to Police she saw a car with "one Houle Man" (white man) with one local girl who was knocked out or drunk or something, becase her hair was all messy and her head was bobbing. Police call her crazy and push her aside. Other reports about a Policeman or someone acting like one is pulling over women and harrasing them. even one report of a guy with long hair getting pulled over and then punched in the face when he was discovered to be a man. Blue Lights in Grills of car become illegal. Police decide to focus on one of thier own, an officer with a bad record himself, accused of rapping his step daughter and rapping a 13 yr old. (not sure if convicted or if he was just suspended) My Question is why one of thier own? This answer comes years later after Lisa's mom has died of cancer on December 25, 1992. Heaven has called home another "Angel". Remember Chrissy, she was leading the searches, sending groups to search every where but Tanlis where Lisa was found. She was also sleeping with the lead detective who was getting her Cocaine. A close source to both Chrissy and Detective Lum told a report this at a party years later. Still my Question why one of thier own? In 1981 there was a huge cocaine bust, Cop dealing cocaine, the story was hushed up real fast. Later I discoved Lum was one of the Officers busted. The police officer that they had focused on knew of the bust and I believe framing him was the best way to shut him up. Lisa was just a victum in thier sick cover-up. In 1998 right before Thanksgiving we lost our father, Lisa had one brother, my husband and a little sitster that never got to know her big sister, she was only 7yrs old when Lisa was taken from us. I'm asking for any help, advise what to do, where to go and who to talk to, or any imformation that anyone can give. We will always love and miss you Lisa Ma and Dad, you are in our hearts every day. Mahalo for you time and help. The Au's looking for help Jan 24, 2006 | 1:00AM - Edit | Delete 24 years ago on January 21, 1982 an Angel was sent home to heaven. The Au's -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obituaries Saturday, November 21, 1998 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chester Au, 57, was hurt by daughter's unsolved murder Chester Au, 57, a partner in C&N Auto Tech mechanic shop in Kaneohe, died Thursday at home. Au was thrust into the spotlight in January 1982 when his daughter, Lisa, was abducted and her car found near Kailua Drive In. Ten days later, on Jan. 31, her body was found on Tantalus. Although suspects, including a police officer, were questioned, no one was ever charged in the slaying. Au told a Honolulu Star-Bulletin reporter earlier this year: “I still think about it today. I feel disappointed with the system but I learned to deal with the fact that nothing ever is going to be done.” The case, which was featured on the network television show “Inside Edition” in 1992, was the source of years of emotional upheaval for the Au family, which sued the police for negligence in the investigation and hired a former police detective for an unsuccessful effort to find Lisa's killer. Au told the reporter that the case contributed to his divorce from Lisa's mother in the early 1990s. Patrice Au-Kaunamano died in 1992. Au is survived by son Chester Jr.; daughter Mei Li Jack; sisters Barbara Lee and Jerene Kwapy of Pacific, Mo.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services are pending. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
