Gatlinburg was very crowded, despite it being about 20 degrees and snowing constantly. It is a very tourist-y town and everything is overpriced and a little obnoxious. We decided to look around for a little while and then head back for some more lovely scenery.
Back on the Foothills Parkway
Some mountains were snowy and some weren't!
The camera takes away a lot of depth, but this is very high up!
The camera also takes away a lot of the dramatic lighting.
The Bean Tree is the restaurant we stopped at for a late lunch. It was even vegetarian friendly!
The Bean Tree is located in Hartford, TN, and if you are in the area, I highly reccomend it.
We are tired and demand coffee
Except Graham doesn't drink coffee, and he gets hot chocolate. First prize goes to who can guess what the thing on the mug is.
Mmm..Did I mention that it snowed all day?
Graham had a really awesome grilled cheese with pesto. I had a grilled tofu with orange sauce sandwich. Very delicious!
Out back is the Pigeon River
Graham beside the Pigeon River
This is a makeshift boat launch for the canoe rental next door
A lovely end to a lovely day.
