Andrew's Geyser is located way off the beaten path in Old Fort, NC. Follow a small sign off of the main road toward the interstate and it will take you through a winding rural community and then a grassy clearing with only this man-made geyser, a non-descript memorial stone, and a stone bench or two. Behind the geyser is a lovely creek.
Graham and I found ourselves here after visiting Marion for a post-op appointment for his Lasik surgery the day before. We were here on May 13, 2006.

I don't know if this is some strange butterfly phenomenon I'm not aware of, or just a funky coincidence. All of these butterfly wings were scattered in a row that led from the edge of the water to the edge of the slope. Butterflies kept landing in this area, and the wings weren't anywhere else.

I don't have too many pictures from this little adventure, because there really wasn't a whole lot to see in the first place. Certainly an interesting little spot.
