JESUS SAVED ME It is only now when I look back at my past, that I can see the vision, the plans, God had for my life. I grew up in a community where survival was a way of life and doing what you could to survive was never the right thing to do. However if you wanted to earn your place among the local riff raff you had to do as your peers commanded you. I still recall my mates parents telling their children to stay away from that Campbell boy. ‘You will end up in trouble if you hang out with him,’ or ‘He won’t have much of a future.’ Their words would prove prophetic as I entered my teens and headed down the road of destruction. It was only when I met my wife-to-be that my life changed for the better. |
As a boy I attended Scripture Classes and was forced to go to Sunday School. I quickly learnt about God and struck a one sided deal with Him, that whenever I prayed He would get me out of what ever kind of trouble I’d got myself into. It was only when I committed myself to God at 49 that I realised God had chosen me from the beginning of time and He had been with me through all my tests and trials. I also realise now that when I had an alcohol and drug problem, when we lost our son to suicide, and going through a mental breakdown, that God allowed me to go through them to strengthen me. After I had come through God used me to help others who suffered in similar circumstances. Jesus saved me and loves me. He loves you too, will you invite Him into your Life?
