Caught In The Fire.
The devotional booklet Our Daily Bread told a story about a women in a burning building screaming for help (7/4/06). A fireman on a ladder outside her window called her to come to him. She came, saw the distance to the ground and retreated into the room. The pleas of the fireman to come to him were disregarded. When the poor devastated fireman returned to the ground, with tears in his eyes he said, ‘I did everything I could to save her but she wouldn’t let me.’ Jesus has done all He can to save us from the coming “fire”. He holds out his arms to us saying, ‘Come to me.’ Will you let Him save you? |
The Apostle Peter wrote in a letter to the first Christians the following words, “The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.’ (2 Peter 3:10). Jesus says, ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
