 Comments:

I am currently assigned to Baghdad Radio Airspace Information Center in Baghdad, Iraq.  We push over 1,000 movements a day and run 24/7.  There’s no such thing as a weekend or holiday here.  In addition to providing support to aircraft, we also provide support to ground units who wish to use the airspace for UAV’s, Artillery, and Special Operations (the ones you don’t hear about on T.V.).

Hobbies:

Flight Simulation, RC Helicopters, and Hockey.

Joint-Ops (How you came about Joint-Ops):

It all started with an idea of making a place where not only we could fly and have fun, but pass on skills to help everyone become a better pilot.

Pilot Career (Real and/or Virtual):

9 years Combat/Flight Simulation, I spent a few years in JO in the beginning, but my Army life drew me away from it because I didn’t have much time.  I’m currently the CEO of America West Virtual Airlines (www.aweva.org).  We are an enthusiast group that flight on the VATSIM Network.

Joint-Ops Claims to Fame:

The longs nights of making the first JO website and dealing with Fifties (LOL) just kidding.  Spending nights in the Microsoft Zone trying to recruit members for the school and working 2 times more to convince them that we weren’t a squad.

The very first MEPS (now known as SEPS), we only had 3 members show up but it was an all day headache.  It also taught us to put instructions with a lot of our tools.

The Future:

Now that I have a bit more time on my hands and will be getting out of the military as soon as I get back to the states, I plan on continuing what we started.  JO has been around longer than any of us had ever imagined and it just seems to be getting better.  Lets all hope that it’s around for many years to come.
