Jenna: (laughing) Oh, and here's to you for out-foxing the old battle-ax so she'd cough it up. Here's to our new business, antiques, and getting rich again. Buzz: Here, here! (spies Alan Michael across the room) I don't suppose we could lay our hands on like a mummy case to put him away for eternity? A medieval ax with which we could lop off his little hands? Jenna: Buzz, (holds menu in front of her face) if he sees us here together, he'll go and tell his Auntie and she'll stop payment on that check before you've even had a chance to deposit it. Buzz: Oh, he can keep his mouth shut you can say that much for him. Jenna: I wished you had asked her to do it on a local bank instead of one from New York, it will take days for the one from New York to even clear.. Buzz: (snatches menu from her face) It'll be fine. (raising his champagne glass) To Alexandra Spaulding, for providing us the seed money for the venture though she don't even know it. Well, I went to see Dr. Sedwick... Buzz: Everything OK? Jenna: (smiling) I'm a 100 percent. Buzz: That's good. Jenna: That's more than good Buzz: OK.... Jenna: (chuckling) She said that I could safely do anything I could do before... Buzz: Everything?? Jenna: Hmmm.....um Buzz:(grinning) What is it you could do before? Jenna: Would you like me to show you? Buzz: Uh....when?? Jenna: Tonight... Buzz: Ahhhh huh...(kissing her hand then up her arm and stops to quizzically) Jenna: Ah, the odor is uh...this dress was salvaged from the dumpster, thanks to your ex-wife.
Scene 2: Buzz and Jenna on the Tower's Balcony
Buzz: Not only that, she has our table, she sent our dinners back. And that Spaulding brat is yelling at my daughter so I'm going back in there. Jenna: Oh no you're not, you're not going to flush our hard earned $50,000 down the drain (Buzz puts up his jacket collar to combat the cold) Buzz: I finagled it, so I can flush it if I want. Jenna: You would do that? You would end it before it even got started? Buzz: (leans into her) Getting started is what I had in mind. Jenna: Ahhh. we're going to have to wait then. Buzz: Ahhh, we can and we have. But I'm not too keen on being held hostage by Alexandra's checkbook anymore than I am standing out here freezing to death. I feel like Charo and the North Pole. Jenna: (laughing) Oh, it's not that bad out here Buzz. Buzz: I'm approaching a stage of hypothermia which could only be treated by the immediate and prolonged contact of another human body for the sake of heat exchange (wrapping tie around his head and ears) Jenna: (giggling) Now I think you're being a little over dramatic. Buzz: Easy to say with Nadine's fake fur. Jenna: Here, (takes off her coat and wraps it around Buzz's shoulders) is that better (soothingly rubs his back like a pampered baby) Buzz: It's a little better.
Buzz on balcony still wrapped in fake white fur coat Buzz: Why don't I take the money and go to Las Vegas? Jenna: Not funny. Buzz: Well, then why don't you get in here (goes to open one side of the coat). Jenna: Oh...it might drop a degree or two if you open up the coat Buzz: Oh, I think the temperature will even out. Jenna: Yeah? You sure? Buzz: Sure! (wraps her inside coat with him) Hmmmm
Buzz: Ahhh...Why don't we go home? Jenna: What about the money? Buzz: Ohhhh....well, if I told you it would be worth $50,000 would that make it better? Jenna: (whispering and laughing) It might. Scene 4: Buzz and Jenna kissing in a clinch burst into the Firehouse...first slamming themselves against the open door then flinging them selves across doorway to the other wall...never breaking contact
Jenna: Thank goodness.... Buzz: Here, let me (flings off Jenna's coat an throws it to the floor...Jenna tugging at his jacket and they spin and fall to the sofa crawling all over each other...Buzz jumps up) Oh NO!!! Jenna: (breathless) What WHAT???? Buzz: (throwing cushions on to the floor, pushes Jenna off the couch and opens the sofa bed...Jenna jumps on unmade bed, Buzz scurries away in a frenzy ) Have to get some pillows.... Jenna: (incredulous) You're going to make the bed??? Now???? Buzz: Yeah (breathless, with pillows and sheets) Trust me, it will be much more comfortable...relax it will only take a minute. (Jenna springs off bed and walks to the dresser and opens drawer, gets out gun and methodically puts the bullets in. Buzz, back to her, still making bed) I thought maybe... (turns and see her)..STOP!!! Jenna: (holds up gun and bullets) Why? Aren't I doing it right?
Buzz with his arms outstretched Jenna: No......(gently puts gun down....softly says) No...I was thinking about something you said. About the possibility of Roger coming back I did tell him that I shot him, and I think I convinced him, but I can't really be sure. One thing I am certain about is that he was obsessed with the child that I'm carrying...was carrying... Anyway, I'm sure he's feeling a certain amount of guilt, because...he was partially responsible for my...losing it. I don't think he's going to come back to torture me anymore. But you...you're a whole other subject He detests you. Because he knows that no matter how many times I denied it that I was falling in love with you...I am in love with you. I adore you. Everything you've done. You've protected me, you've looked out for me, you've been there. And I want to do the same for you. I will not let Roger, or anyone, touch a single hair on your head. Buzz:(tears in his eyes) I, uh....I don't know if I can go through with this. I've wanted you so long and so hard, and I just, I never thought it was going to happen between us, and I thought it was for the best...because I don't want you to break my heart. If you do I'm going to be ticked Um...that's not going to happen, who am I kidding? Because, if I don't have you now everything else is going to break in me. I wish you would come over here before I ruin this like some stiff dumb jackpot winner...because I'm... Jenna: (approaches Buzz...touches his face) I'm here (kisses him...)
Scene 6: Buzz and Jenna in bed afterwards...
Buzz: (flips her over to her back and leans over her) That you are the train whistle I used to hear in the dark of my room...over the Diner when I was a kid and trains used to run streaking off to places like Montana whose names played like maddening music in my head. That you are Alaska, and the northern lights up there...glimmering and glorious...and vast open spaces just with ice and nobody to see them but seals and fish. You are Africa!....Muslim temples and the Ganges river in which things are purified. You are the lab at Livermore, where invisible atoms get split into billions of invisible pieces. You are to me a casoulet as I hear is to stew as heaven is to earth. (tears in Jenna's eyes; flowing down her cheeks) Your are fortune of hammered gold lying somewhere off the pacific coast waiting for someone to find it. I never so much wanted to make my mark on this world as to see the marks that God made on it, and let them mark me...And now I've touched one (touches her face)...I have tasted one, and it soo sweet...( holds her to him and rolls over on his back, holds her head and looks into her eyes ) And I know...I will not go mad anymore, when I die...I will not be one of those suckers who ran himself out chasing something he...smelled in the wind....(kisses her.....)
Scene 7: Buzz mixing something in a bowl as Jenna comes up behind him, wraps her arms around him and kisses his neck...he turns toward her and they kiss....
Reporter: Do you know who shot you? (Buzz and Jenna staring at TV in shock and fear...)
