Touching Down

CHARACTER KEY:
Narration
JaXion
Welcome Center Woman

The ACW logo flashes over the screen, then blacks out. As the camera fades in, the loud humming noise of air planes is very distinct in the background. In one of the terminals, JaXion is just stepping off of the plane for his first visit in Australia. He has a black UnderArmour duffel bag over his right shoulder. He is wearing a rather nice black, pinstriped suit with a pastel blue undershirt. He walks out into Brisbane Airport and pulls off his sunglasses. He looks around a bit smiling. He walks up to the camera with a large smile on his face.

"I can't believe our show's in Australia. I always wanted to visit this place, man. Its great here. Except that goddamned seventeen hour flight was brutal! I swear I've been drunk for about ten hours! And I watched four or five movies. Horrible. I'm gonna need some grub here pretty soon. First, I want to find out where I can go surfin'! See if I still can anymore.

He walks over to the nearest 'Welcome Center' and walks up to the woman behind the desk.

"Excuse me ma'am, I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about the area. The nearest beaches, best places to stay, all that jazz?

"Of course, sir. You've just landed in the Brisbane and Southern Queensland region. The best beach I would say to go to around here is World Heritage Fraser Island. It is the world's largest sand island.

"How's the surf there? Any good?"

"Well you are in Australia. On the south Pacific Ocean, we do have some of the best surf in the entire world."

"Well, fair enough. What about a place to stay? I'm planning on being here through Tuesday..."

"Well, to be honest sir, I'm not very familiar with the area's hotels and resorts just yet. There is a brochure on the rack at the door, it should have everything you are looking for."

"Thanks a lot, darlin'."

JaXion walks out grabbing the brochure and looking through it. As they are walking he spots a place to get something to eat. It is called Eagle Boy's Pizza. He hurries to the line and frowns at the large amount of people ahead of him. Then he looks toward the camera.

"Well while we're here, I guess I can address Shawn Insayne. Looks like we have a while. Before the flight, I got a chance to hear your final thoughts on our match. And I gotta tell ya, training all day isn't going to help you with me, bro. All you're going to do is wear yourself out! There's no way you can match my strength in that ring. And there is even less of a chance that you can become as strong as I am in a single day of lifting. Especially not in a hotel gym. Now I'm glad you listened, you don't seem to be underestimating me as much. But come on, I passed your test? We're grown ups Shawn! You can't just admit that I was right? You were underestimating my talent. Don't try to cover that up with elementary games like it was all a test. That's just childish, man, real childish.

He finally gets to the counter. He looks concerned because all of his thoughts were on Shawn, not what he wanted to eat! He scans the menu quickly.

"What the hell, I'll try a large Bacon and Egg."

He pays for it and stands near the counter. They tell him it'll be about eight minutes. JaXion rolls his eyes and leans against the counter, out of the way.

"Listen, Shawn. I know what this title is worth. Hell, any championship belt is worth a lot to me. And its going to mean that much more after I win it in my first full month of wrestling in the ACW. You see, I know what I have to do to earn respect here. If you had happened to hear any of my other interviews, it was what I focussed on the most. I explained it to Dynamite Daniel. I don't expect to have respect given to me, I have to earn it. I guaran-damn-tee Daniel respects me now. But I also know that you don't. You can't have respect for me. You've seen me in action one time! Claiming it was against jobbers. Well, whatever the case may be... Whatever you're opinion is... You're going to respect me, Shawn. Perhaps not this week. But after I take the International Championship belt, and hold it high in the middle of the ring over your lifeless body, you will respect JaXion.

After standing at the counter like a moron, the clerk at the register informs JaXion that they bring the pizza to him. He explains that is why they gave JaXion the number he holds in his hand. Looking somewhat embarrassed, he walks to the nearest table, drops his duffel bag and sits down. He looks off a minute recalling Shawn's final statements. Then he chuckles a bit to himself before speaking...

"You want to know why I'm laughing? I'm laughing at your remark about my Atlantis conversation. I'm not sure if you didn't hear me, or if you're just stupid. I never said a word about not believing in dreams. Hell I have plenty of dreams, Shawn. To nail you with the JaXhammer and take that belt is one with a lot of priorty at the moment. I simply stated, that Atlantis is nothing more than a metaphor written by Plato. It wasn't ever real. It was an idea, a story. You know what they are don't ya? The dream is all the quacks that think they're going to dig it up. There's nothing to dig. And that is what I compared to your false ideas of beating me. You think you can win, but just like the Atlantis dreamers, you don't have anything to dig either. So start counting down the days, Bad Company. After I beat you Monday, its only thirteen days until we're in Oakland, and I'm the new International champion.

A man brings out JaXion's pizza and his eyes light up. He thanks the man, but before he begins to eat, he looks back to the camera.

"You were right about one thing, though. Our match will be a classic. Both of them will be. And coming out of it will be a legend. His name is JaXion. And you'll never be anything more than a former International champion, no better than the likes of your 'Chapter One' Adrian Law."

"Sweet dreams..."

The grabs a slice of his pizza and takes a bite. The camera pans backward and fades to black.
