Ista's Weyrlings

Week 5

OOC

  • Make sure you're on your dragon ('mount <dragon>'), then, so long as you're in a room with an exit to a sky room (i.e. a bowl, beach...) 'cd<dragon code> fly' or 'cd<dragon code> up'.
  • While flying about the Weyr, have a look at all the skyrooms, and think about where you'd like your ledge to be. The choices are: Above the Pools (off High Above NE Bowl), Sky High Over Northeastern Bowl, Sky High Over Central Bowl, Sky High Over Southeastern Bowl, Sky Over Southeastern Bowl, Sky Over Central Bowl, Sky Over Northeastern Bowl, Forest Weyrs (off the Plateau),

IC

  • You think you had whiplash from riding 'em around the ground, just wait 'til you get to sit on your dragons for take-off! It'll take some getting used to, so for the first little while expect everyone to be whining about wanting massages and/or numbweed.
  • First mounted flights do not have to be done one at a time. In other words, three of you can go up with your lifemates all at once, provided you space yourselves out for takeoff. The dragons should be able to handle themselves well enough in the air by now to avoid collision.
  • You no longer have to hunt for your lifemates. This, of course, means that you get to RP the joys of hunting out at the Corral! Think, what will your dragon's hunting and eating style be? Vicious killer with blood everywhere? A merciful killer, who is cautious and neat with his or her food?
  • Sorry, but you're still going to be restricted to the Weyr for the first bit of the week. After about Sunday-ish (OOCly, obviously), you can start going for extended flights, as far as the Hold, but you MUST be accompanied by a Weyrlingmaster (PC or NPC).
  • Restrictions on alcohol and relationships still apply.
  • Firestone tossing! Yep, we need to get those arms into shape, so you'll be bagging and tossing on the ground, and nearing the end of the (OOC) week, tossing back and forth in the air in pairs too. Yay!
  • Once you and your lifemate are accustomed to flying together, airborne formations will begin. This will start first with three dragons flying as part of a formation in the air. The numbers will slowly increase until you're ready to have full-wing drills in the air. Until this time, full-wing formation drills will continue on the ground, ICly led by Sin and Vri, under Weyrlingmaster supervision.
