Ista's Weyrlings
Week 3
OOC
- Your first time riding your dragon must be RPed with a PC Weyrlingmaster, as this is the requirement for the week that will get you marked off on the Weyrling Progress Record.
- For the first half a month (Thursday and Friday, OOCly) you will be riding solo around the bowl, building up endurance. After that, you will be riding in formation with your fellow Weyrlings. To review formations, please visit http://southern.silvertree.org/riders/threadfall.html (you'll have to scroll down a bit).
- Please note that you will not be allowed to ride your dragon until you have your straps desc completed. See Week 2 for information on how to set that.
- To mount the dragon, type 'mount <dragon>'. To dismount, 'dismount <dragon>'. Easy to remember, right?
- Consider possible names for your Weyrling wing this week. There is no real theme for Ista's wing names, so just do anything that sounds good. Please try to discuss possible names amongst yourselves before sending them to *wlm, so as to cut down on the number of possibilities come voting time. Suggestions are due on January 18th.
- If you are interested in having your character become Wingleader or Wingsecond, please @send *wlm by January 18th. You can ask to be considered for only one, or both, positions. If you are interested in both, please specify which you would prefer (in the event that you get, for example, six votes for Wingleader -and- six votes for Wingsecond). Weyrlings will vote for their 'leader and 'second(s) in week 4.
IC
Dragons, especially young ones, are a bumpy ride. Expect whiplash, and feel free to take advantage of sore muscles for some bonding RP with your clutchmates. Nothing like platonic shoulder rubbing to help you get to know Plat'o...
You are restricted to the barracks, the pool, the bowls, and the living caverns. Alcohol and romantic relationships are still prohibited- this doesn't mean your character can't have feelings for someone (those can't be controlled), but there's to be no sexual contact of any kind. Any IC disobedience, as always, must be discussed with WLM staff OOCly before the fact.
Wing exercises are becoming increasingly important, as your dragons will be flying next week. Don't forget about them in the excitement of getting to ride your dragons!
Feeding, oiling, bathing, and mucking out couches are still a priority. Dragons still can't hunt, and still can't go between to deal with their, uh, bodily wastes.
You should all get a chance to rotate into Wingleader/Wingsecond position during formation drills. Now is a time to start thinking- will your character be a natural leader? Will he or she improve over time? Will he or she never be able to deal with the pressures of leading a wing, and keeping tabs on all the dragonriders in his or her wing?
