Wings Of Light
by Faye Wong (english translation) |
I quietly flip on the power switch The colours on the [computer] screen are brightening I'm searching in the virtual city For a place where my spirit can rest The plastic keyboard is rattling The machine's voice is calling out tenderly I abandon my imperfect body [And] leap out of reality's skylight I spread my transparent wings [And] fly towards the moon I search for the most beautiful Heaven for this life I've passed the edge of the world I'm following my premonitions I'm riding on the wind of imagination Scattering infinite radiance The high-speed connection is transmitting thoughts Leaping letters are revealing wishes Comforting words seem more tangible Than an intimate embrace The colours on the screen are still radiating light The machine's voice continues to call out I can't find a place to hide my desires In the oceans of the internet The mysterious passage is about to open I'm tingling with excitement and expectation I abandon my tired body [And] leap out of reality's skylight I spread my transparent wings [And] fly towards the moon I search for the most beautiful Heaven for this life I've flown past the end of the night I've embraced your warmth I'm riding on the wind of imagination Scattering infinite radiance |

I'm not that lyrically interested in this song, beyond how the actual singing is music in itself. This is a reason why I can enjoy music in a language I don't understand. You start out thinking this might be some timid song, maybe sung by some timid girl, but then she busts out with amazing power vocals. |
