Grindhouse

About Grindhouse

Grindhouse is one full movie that consists of two segments. These two segments are each feature-length films, the first is titled "Planet Terror" (directed by Robert Rodriguez), and the second is titled "Death Proof" (directed by Quentin Tarantino). Grindhouse is supposed to simulate the feel of the retro grindhouse cinemas from the 1970s that would often show a double feature of B-grade horror movies. In essence, Grindhouse is a double feature of two different films shown together, for the price of one. In order to intensify the entire grindhouse theme, each films shown in the double feature were made to look old and grainy. There is also a handful of fake movie previews that are placed inbetween the two movies, also to further capture the grindhouse effect.

So basically, if you go to see Grindhouse in the cinemas, you are getting a double feature of two full-length horror movies, for the price of one. There has been a lot of confusion from moviegoers over this film, and because of that (and it's low income at the box office), the studio is considering splitting apart the two films and re-releasing them separately. So, this page is here to clear things up for those who don't understand the concept of the film.
