Besotted by ego

They rise on wings of avarice

Seeking salvation in status

As though sophistication

Were a magic potion

Bestowing happiness

Through orgasmic opulence

Though enlightenment eludes

The exalted elite

Deep in denial

Their smug countenance

The perfect disguise

For myopic minds
