Figure 2.19. Part eh is a schematic diagram and part b is a phasor diagram. In part eh there is an AC generator on the left labeled V sub G. The top of the generator connects to one end of a resistor labeled R. The other end of the resistor connects to one end of an inductor labeled L. The other end of the inductor connects to one end of a capacitor labeled C. The other end of the capacitor connects to the bottom end of the generator. In the phasor diagram V sub L points up from the origin and V sub C points down. These two phasors are the same length. The sum V sub L minus V sub C would be zero. There is a very short phasor exetending to the right. It is labeled V sub G and V sub R. V sub R = V sub G. There is a much longer phasor extending from the origin to the right. It is labeled I.
