Figure 2.8. There are two parts to this figure, a schematic diagram and a graph. In the schematic diagram there is a AC generator on the left. It is labeled V = V sub P sine 2 Pi f t. The top of the generator connects to the negative end of a battery. The positive end of the battery connects to the upper output terminal. The lower end of the generator connects to the bottom output terminal. In the graph there is a vertical axis representing voltage and a horizontal axis representing time. The graph is of a sine wave and it begins quite high on the voltage axis. It goes up and down moving to the right. The negative peaks are about as far from the zero volta line as the sine wave is tall. The sine wave is up in the air, all values positive, never coming close to zero. End verbal description.
