Would you like to start your own plants from seed?

Don't waste money on planting pots make your own biodegradable pots from newspaper. When your plant is ready, just dig a hole and plant the pot and all. No disturbing tiny roots and no accidentally breaking plants trying to get them out of their pots.

It only takes about 5 minutes

What You will need:

imgNewspaper
imgSmall jar or can
img Potting soil

Here's is what to do:

img Fold a sheet of newspaper in the middle fold then fold again so that you have a long narrow piece. The width of this will be the height of the pot.

img Roll up the can or jar in the newspaper as evenly as you can, then take the jar out, leaving the newspaper rolled.

img Take a half sheet of newspaper, cut or tear it into fourths and stuff it into the rolled up piece, then, using the jar, tamp it down to form a bottom to the pot.

img Fit the pots onto a tray or something similar, turning so that the free end of the newspaper butts against another pot to keep it from unwinding, or gently tie a string around each one.

imgFill with potting soil and plant seeds.

imgYou can sterilize your own good soil by baking an inch deep of soil at 250 degrees for about 10 minutes.

imgBeware, the smell is atrocious so open all windows and doors when doing this.
