The Rainbow Connection
A very beautiful pic of the Rainbow Bridge you can copy and add your Angel! <click to enlarge> Here's a beloved Berner at the Bridge using this pic With many thanks to Ellie Crystal for her kind permission to share this Rainbow Link http://www.crystalinks.com/rainbowbridge.html Beyond The Rainbow As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played, I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade. I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity. I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide! And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be! My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do. I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night. 'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold. For although we may not be together in the way we used to be, We are still connected by a cord no eye can see. So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart. cg - 1995 The Rainbow Connection Why are there so many songs about rainbows And what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, And rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it I know they're wrong, wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, The lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that every wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that and someone believed it, and look what it's done so far. What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing? And what do we think we might see? Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me. All of us under its spell, we know that it's probably magic... Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name. Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors? The voice might be one and the same. I've heard it too many times to ignore it. It's something that I'm supposed to be. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me. La, la la, La, la la la, La Laa, la la, La, La la laaaaaaa Author Unknown A Bridge Called Love It takes us back to brighter years, to happier sunlit days and to precious moments that will be with us always. And these fond recollections are treasured in the heart to bring us always close to those from whom we had to part. There is a bridge of memories from earth to Heaven above... It keeps our dear ones near us It's the bridge that we call love. Author Unknown I do set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. Old Testament Genesis, IX, 13 From Melissa a special story: When my father was dying he asked my sisters and I to go home -- we had been with him for almost a month and he said it was time for us to get back to our families because he could be around a long time ( he was already past the dr's days) so to please him we left. Three days later we got the call to come back because it was the end. We got on the first flight to him and Thanks Newark Airport sat on the runway for 1.5 hr while on the runway a rainbow appeared (not raining) and I looked at my sister and told her Daddy had passed. When we landed my fathers friend was there to get us and told us he had passed away -- but we knew-- he said goodbye in his own way -- a rainbow :0) He didn't want us to remember him any other way! Jean's story: Rainbows have always meant something very special to me, whenever someone I have loved has died I have always seen a rainbow in the sky as a sign that they are now at peace and in a better place and free from pain. The photo above was the first time I actually managed to capture this moment. I had just taken Simmy's ashes, my 5 yr old Berner who died much too soon from Histio, and placed them with his other angel friends in my pets' cemetery in the old orchard under the old apple tree. I so sadly came back to the house and turned to look back and this rainbow was in the sky. It wasn't raining, it was approaching dusk, it was the clearest sign ever that Simmy was now reunited with his friends at the Bridge. I couldn't believe that my camera was there in the kitchen, the battery was fully charged and I actually got this picture! It was meant to be and the inspiration for this page, The Rainbow Connection. I thought that I woke up to hear, Your big paw steps walking near. Paddling across the kitchen tiles, As you smiled one of your Berner smiles. You love Fig Newtons .. not too sweet. Or wed get a spoon and then would savor Ice cream in your favorite flavor. Youd lay your big head on my knee; Wed share secrets, you and me. 'Cause when I was feeling sad; If I rubbed your belly I felt glad. There was no stress in my human day, Patting you could not take away. I listen for your paw steps on the floor, I long to see your face once more. But Dogs pure souls are just on loan, Soon, too soon God takes them home. I think He sends them so well see A taste of how Heaven will be. My funny charming Faithful friend, Our days together now must end. But though it seems that were apart, The joy of you stays in my heart. My tears will dry in a little while, And then your memory will make me smile. Until that day when we meet again, Ill see you in my dreams, dear friend. *BernerMemories* HistioRollCall* VeteranAngels* Endlesslove Angels* |
