Robin's Beloved Girl
"Nakita was a blue dobbie mix. I rescued her from the
pound ten years ago. She was found running the streets. She was
abused I think, very timid and frightened. After a few weeks, she
adjusted to me and knew that I loved her. She thrived, gained weight
and felt comfortable. She was a very loyal loving friend. All she
had to hear was my voice and her tail wagged. She did have a litter
of eight puppies and was a great mom and let me handle her babies,
which were all adopted to good homes. I knew when I came home she
would run and lol almost knock me over whith kisses. She was such a
good girl.
She was diagonosed with breast cancer in July,10 I tried to
ignore it. But the day came when the tumor was huge and she was
uncomfortable, I loved her too much to see her suffer. I made the
decision to let her go in dignity, which was unbearable.
The last time I saw her she was in the car on the way to the
vet and sitting up straight and tall and beautiful, the ears were
up. and she was looking at me. I agonized over this. But now I know
I did this out of love. When I come home now I can still see her on
the sofa with the tail wagging and her soft brown eyes full of love."
