Shu is the God of Air and Light. He is the son of Atum or Re and is in the Great Ennead of Heliopolis. Tefnut is his wife, Geb and Nut his children. His name means Dry. Shu is seen as a man with a feather on his head. The feather is the hieroglyph of his name. He was the one who separated Geb from Nut, or Earth from Sky. Because of this he supports the sky and heavens. He was the King of Egypt but then Geb took over. Sometimes he is worshiped as a lion.
