Nut is the Goddess of the Sky and Heaven. Her name means Sky. She is normally seen as a woman in a blue dress stretching over a man, Geb, with her hands and feet touching either horizon. She is also sometimes seen as a cow because she sometimes switches with Hathor who is Goddess of the Dead. When she was forbidden to have any more children because she married Geb, she tricked her father, who had forbidden her in the first place, and had 5 children: Osiris, Haroeris, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys. Because she is the sky she is believed by some to be the mother of the sun. She is drawn on the top of coffins to protect the dead in heaven. She too is part of the Great Ennead of Heliopolis.
