Maat is the Goddess of Order, Truth, and Justice. Her name means Truth and she is the daughter of Re. She is normally seen as a woman wearing an ostrich feather on her head. The feather was used when she helped with the judgement of the dead. Normally she stood for the order of things in the universe. When the Egyptians started to worship gods she was one of the first because they belived that if she was happy, the order of things in the universe would stay the same. She is sometimes seen as the relationship between everything in the universe.
