Cocaine is a white powder that is refined from the coca plant. The coca plant grows in South America. The powder can be snorted or sniffed through a straw or rolled up note and absorbed through the nasal membranes. Sometimes it is mixed and reacted with other chemicals to form crack, a smokeable form of the same drug.


Cocaine is a short powerful stimulant. The effects of cocaine powder are it reduces appetite and increases energy. These effects last for about thirty minutes. As the drug starts to wear off, it's common to experience a compulsion to take more coke to avoid coming down. The common effects are low energy, hunger and tiredness. Also anxiety, irritability and paranoia ( irrational fear) effects which follow cocaine. 


A cocaine users will appear to people around you arrogant, loud and  continually chatting. Snorting cocaine may permanently damage the inside of the nose. Smoking crack can cause chest pains, lung damage and bronchitis. Injecting cocaine rapidly destroys the skin tissues and can cause ulcers. Long term users can result in a range of mental health conditions from mild depression to the extreme of cocaine psychosis with symptoms similar to schizophrenia. Overdosing can lead to death. Large or frequent doses over a short period can leave users restless, confuses and paranoid.


Regular users will lead to interrupted sleep patterns anxiety and paranoia. A regular user will find themselves feeling unable to cope unless they've has some cocaine. The user will get very stressed out and irritable when they're not using it. People often experience a compulsion to take more, and can start to feel unable to have a good time unless they are using cocaine.


Cocaine is illegal. It is categorized as Class A drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act. If found of possession of Cocaine the sentence is 7 years in prison and or a fine. If found supplying the sentence is life imprisonment and or a fine. This includes giving a substance for free, and can be for any amount of Cocaine that the court feels is too unreasonably large to be for personal use only.
