Blood+

Review

Background Info

Blood+ is the anime series sequel of the movie Blood: the Last Vampire. It shows aftermath of the movie and the continuation of Saya Otonashi’s fight against the chiropterans. Chiropterans are humans that have had a blood called Delta67 injected into them, and then transformed into these beasts. And Saya’s blood has the ability to crystallise a chiropteran’s blood.

Storyline

So the series starts with Saya being a normal school girl, apparently she woke up a year ago from a deep sleep and was taken in by her step dad and his adopted sons, Kai & Riku.

Then the story progresses (quite fast) into Saya being attacked by a Chiropteran and Saya’s loyal servant showing up, Hagi. (I know that many subtitlers and fans say his name is Haji, and not Hagi. Though it’s said the same way. But in the Newtype USA magazine, they say his name is Hagi, so just deal with it. But I honestly think it’s better off as Haji.)

Then, Saya becomes involved with the Red Shield, an organisation created to track down Diva, the source of Delta67. So Saya’s mission is to hunt down Diva with her bloody katana and kill her!.

Storyline

I’m really sucked into the storyline and drama. The action is gory and quick, the way I like it, lol. But I really want to see more of this series, so lucky they’ve got 2 extra mangas out, one about Hagi and the other about Saya & Hagi’s past in Russia.

The twist and turns in Blood+ can be quite a tear jerker. (I cry really easily, especially if it’s Furuba, lol.) The speed of the storyline can be a little quick, but I think it’s a good speed, cause if it went to slow, then I’d be bored. Demo watashi wa zettai ja nai!!!
