Welcome to Colin's homepage!

Hi! My name is Colin.

My wife and I are both retired teachers, living in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Bedford is a suburb of Halifax, the historic capital city of the province of Nova Scotia, the commercial and industrial center of the Atlantic Provinces. It also has the second-largest natural harbour in the world. The population of greater Halifax is more than 380,000.

The original name of Halifax, in 1749, was Dunkville, after the family name of the British Earl of Halifax! The city is a mix of the historic and the modern: the Nova Scotia legislature had the first responsible government in the British Empire, at the city played host to the G-8 Conference of world leaders in 1995.

For most of my teaching career, I worked with young people who were blind or visually impaired.

I have worked part-time as a radio and television announcer in both English and French at a number of stations throughout Nova Scotia, including:

Volunteer Work: I take part in a number of activities in my retirement, such as serving on Parish committees, and assisting at a seniors' residence affiliated with the Sisters of Charity of Halifax.

Hobbies: I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music in English and French. I like to surf on the computer, read mystery stories and watch news reports, old comedy shows and home improvement programs on TV.
