Under a marketing agreement with American Airlines, three
independent airlines – Chautauqua Airlines, Regions Air and
Trans States Airlines – operate flights with the AA code under
the AmericanConnection brand name. All three airlines are
providers of regional flying to and from St. Louis for American
Airlines, previously operating for TWA as TWExpress.
Together, the AmericanConnection carriers serve 49 destinations
from St. Louis with 334 flights per day.
Chautauqua Airlines, Inc.
Chautauqua Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic
Airways Holdings, an airline holding company based in
Indianapolis, Indiana. Chautauqua is a regional airline that
operates scheduled passenger service to over 67 cities in 26
states, Canada and the Bahamas with a fleet of 85 Embraer
regional jets. The airline is the third largest Embraer regional
jet operator in the world. The airline employs over 1,850
aviation professionals across its system. Chautauqua Airlines is
the recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration's
Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award twelve years in a row.
As AmericanConnection, Chautauqua operates 84 flights daily a
fleet of 15 ERJ-140 regional jets flying from St. Louis to 14
cities.
Trans States Airlines
Trans States Airlines, a large regional airline serving the
Midwest and Eastern U.S. employs over 1,500 aviation
professionals with service to 39 cities and more than 300 daily
flights. Trans States is the recipient of the Federal Aviation
Administration's Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award four
years in a row.
As AmericanConnection, Trans States operates180 flights daily
between 29 cities in 13 Midwestern states with a fleet of 13
Jetstream 41, one ATR-42, one ATR-72 and 15 ERJ-145 regional
jets.
Regions Air, Inc.
Regions Air, Inc. is a privately held company with headquarters
in Smyrna, Tenn. It began operations in December 1996. Regions
Air operates daily non-stop flights between Nashville and
Atlanta, Tri-Cities and Nashville.
As AmericanConnection, Regions Air provides 70 flights from 13
cities in the Midwest to St. Louis and Nashville with a fleet of
12 Jetstream-32 turboprop aircraft.
