As your little one goes
We will cry and weep
as you take your leap
The one that takes you,
across many oceans of blue
I watch as you change and grow
once my flower, now my rose.
When they go on their own
you are left with a empty home
often times we must let them roam
but, the pain that hurts the most
is when they meet the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
but this time we will rejoice
in a happy singing voice
because we know the road he chose
this time we laugh as your little one goes.
This poem was written as a birthday gift for my Uncle in loving memory of his son
David Carroll Black aka Jolly who went to be with his (our) heavenly Father
