As in what I see that its of not much importance to look after the health of our residents and citizens or their
Children after all we as a city have not got or intended to put up a Hospital for them in our City of Palmerston area.
Seeing too of the fact that having a New Library and Sports Centre is higher on your agenda rather than the safety
and health of our residents seeing that the sports centre cost $8 + million let alone what the library cost so your
motto is don’t get sick just read a book and get fit so maybe you should tell that to the young and elderly.
So just lets hope no one breaks a leg when playing sport in support of The City of Palmerston seeing how our own
City Council does not look after us.
It always nice to see how caring for others is such a high priority here in The City of Palmerston seeing too how
there is NO guarantee of any after hours Health cover in The City of Palmerston let alone much of a guarantee
of any health cover the NT.
As we have been just currently seeing on our TV sets that indeed there is no assurety of health care what so ever
under the present circumstances even coming from the Royal Darwin Hospital now in 2007 at least for local
residents of The City of Palmerston.
We see and hear that The Royal Darwin Hospital seem too busy looking after overseas patients for free rather
than looking after our own Australian Citizens in which their health care has gone right out the window at least here at The City of Palmerston.
Then there is the fact too that we dont even have a local City court house either !.
I would also point out that having to travel to and from Darwin for medical assistance for many is very hard indeed this fact seems to have escaped many but does not have any place in todays world .
Some of this attitude may have been acceptable to some hill billy or red neck years ago when Palmerston was just a Town but it sure is not going to wash any more seeing how we are a City and paying dearly for that fact in more ways than one.
So just where is all this extra moneys that you have been getting from rate payers and residents going to as it sure has not been seen going back into our own " Citys " infrastructure over the past 7 years let alone all the other moneys yous have been getting on top of all this as well.
I also have taken note of the fact that The City of Palmerston Council have posted on their web site that Palmerston City is a great place for people and familys to live.
I would indeed question this and I would ask how can anyone truly live in any CITY be it The City of Palmerston when there is no infrastructure for them as being a City or in supporting them let alone not even having our own 24/7 Community Government medical centre or indeed as we should have our own Government Hospital seeing too that most Citys in Australia have got their own Community Government medical centre and Government Hospital.
Beside all these facts you have also put up the rates and taxes as being a " City " and yet yous have NO on going
infrastructure or supports to or for the local community as a " City " to justify these rates and taxes as a " City ".
It would be interesting to have an investigation or audit done as to where all these free monies have gone to seeing
how it has not been spent directly on the residents of " The City of Palmerston " from where it came from in the first
place.
So why are we also now paying dump fee's for using our own dump in that you say is one thing but what you do is
another.
