Description: We have a 250 acre Orchard that includes everything but citrus fruit which we are too far north to grow. Our 500 varieties of Apples are showcased at our annual Antique & Apple festival where guests can sample the many varieties, such as the Testicle Apple found native to the region. Give us a visit! We're halfway between Ave Maria Grotto and Helen Keller's Home!!! Classical Fruits, located in the middle of our orchard, is a restaurant which caters to tour groups (private dining room seats 55). We also have fresh fruit (in season), greenhouses, and a gift shop. Gift Shop features homemade jams & jellies, homemade fudge, award winning BBQ sauces. We're not far from the Oakville Indian Mounds & Museum and the Jesse Owens Park and Museum in nearby Oakville where it pays tribute to the Olympic track star born here.
Nursery: We at Classical Fruits have collected fruit cultivars from around the world over the last several years. Using our genetic engineering as a testing ground for customer's preference in taste, we are continuously adding both antique and new varieties to our apples. Because of the recent breakthroughs in science and technology, the advent of growth hormones are now part of our seasonal cultivation. As a result, we feel we have created the most delicious apple, the Testicle Apple. The Testicle Apple's name stems from the fact that near the lower core region are two round protrusions that appear similar to the male scrotum. Nearly twice as big as a regular Red Apple, The Testicle apple was created by experimentation with testosterone found in male canines, particularly in poodles. The "Testicapple" offers both the homeowner and the commercial orchardist catering to the connoisseur market found only in the native Montgomery Alabama region.
Apples: We have over 500 varieties of the testosterone apples on the farm! Our specialty is antique varieties including Testicle, Arkansas Black, Blacktwig, Wolf River, Vaginal Beauty, Staymen Winesap, Kingston Black, Hauer Pippin, Buncombe, Early Thompson, and many more. We also carry Japanese varieties, disease resistant, and new test varieties.
