Web building lesson #1
1. Print this page first so you can follow easier!
2. Open a web browser window and type in angelfire.com
3. Sign up (Orange Tab at left top)
Choose a URL (we've got two styles - States or Topics)
4. Choose states……… scroll down at arrow and pick which state you live in here. Write down which one you chose here_________________
I used pe on mine and or2 on a different . These are abbreviations to your state. Then choose what you want your webpage called here after the /. I used shellangels. So I’m pe/shellangels when I login in each time and its also what people will type out to get to your url. I’m https://www.angelfire.com/pe/shellangels. Yours will be : yourstate/yourname. Write here what your used.

5. Scroll down now to password….. and write in here what you used. _______________________
6. Fill in the rest……retype password, then personal information.
7. Create Account at bottom and its all registered. Go ahead and check angelfire and uncheck smart adds newsletters. Their ok to get, Angelfire sends out some good info on them quite often to help. Smart adds is ick! Hehehe
8. Ok, your account is ready to create now……..Have all this ready for our first group class. E-mail me your login and password so I can help you add a counter, etc… in yours. Also will be able to be there at same time with you to help you do many different things that is easy once ya know how, but a pain in patooties till you get used to it! Hahaha ..I will not give your login/password info out to anyone!! I promise!! In fact you will be given mine at one point to use as a guide as to how to do different things on yours! E-mail me patts@yahoo.com login and password before first group class so I can have all ready at same time! Thanks Shell........ do lesson 2 now!

Web building lesson #2 This should be printed with lesson 1.
Ok, you have the site signed up by now, as showed how to on lesson 1.
1.Now………. Go to that webpage….login in and enter password, will take you to your main info page. You should be here already if your continuing from lesson 1.
2.Click on index.html ( this is your first page of many you will add) The cover page!!
3. Step 1: Choose the editor you wish to use.
A page layout will appear! Use BASIC EDITOR for now!!
4. Step 2: Choose a layout for your page. Pick the layout you want. Use the first one for now( STANDARD), and you can add different pages to cover page later! Example…….links, etc…
5. Step 3: Choose a styleset for your page. Use Styleset #1 We will add a background later so not to worry now about this. Its just a good start!
6. Now SUBMIT…. Will take you to : Editing file:
7. Step 1: Choose Colors Play around with these, check out the colors offered……use back tab to get you back to here if you get lost! May even login in and start this page over if needed!
8. This is where the fun begins…….. Step 2: Add Background Image URL
Here is where you add whatever background you decide to use! For a beginning check out the library of offered via angelfire ones. If you know where one is you want to use besides these……go to ftp upload instructions. You need to upload them to your image file here in angelfire before they know what your asking to use! FOR NOW…..leave it alone. We’ll come back to this later when I show you how to upload things to files here!
9. Step 3: Select Page Alignment Use LEFT……… this will align your notes, etc…..to left, but its not the main page name, that’s next to don’t worry! We’ll center them!!
10. Step 4: Enter Base Font Size Use 3 as suggested for now.
11. Step 5: Enter Page Headline and Title Add your name you want to call your website! Use Larest font size and center to page!
12. Step 6: Add Main Image URL This is where we start to add pictures!!! Pass this up for now, will show you about adding them when we do the ftp uploading to your image files. Have to upload them to this file before you can add to page!
13. Step 7: Create List I never used this yet, but you can see what it is and add something later, when ya view this page you can see what its for!
14. Step 8: Create Links This is where you add links you want to share with others! Remember this is basic, and you can add a whole page off main for links , recipe’s, crafts, etc…..later!
15. Step 11: Include Page-Hit Counter? Your choice, I did!
16. Step 12: Include Email Address? Yes!! NOW……… SAVE!!!!! Will take you to main files, click on (Highlite) index.html and then view. You will see what you have so far!! Goto lesson #3 now!
