This is the Singer Model 28, VS3, second type, Serial #P859437. It was made in 1901.

The Model 28 is a smaller version of the Model 27.

This shows the beautiful coffin case. It is made of walnut and is in very nice condition. .

This is the full front view of the machine. You can see that the decals are more than 90% intact. This is the Victorian pattern. I've also heard it called the Butterfly design.

This shows the full rear view of the machine. Notice that the rear inspection plate is shaped like a kidney and covered in the same design as the rest of the machine. The third type has the flat, round, nickel plated inspection plate.

This shows the very simple face plate. It is flat with no design.

This is taken from the end with the balance wheel. It shows the beautiful design on the handcrank, too. This picture also shows the storage compartment slightly opened.

This is a close up of the Victorian/Butterfly decals on the front of the machine. This is a beautiful pattern, and was very popular at that time.
