Drive for the Cure Pictures Page 1

1999 323i (E46)

Here's Dad next to the first Bimmer we drove, a 323i manual. The 2.5 responded well, and the 2.8 wasn't missed. The interior was nicely decorated too. Up in the right corner is the Ford Econoline converted into the mobile registration center for the drive. To Dad's left is a 328iC. That's a nice New Jersey license plate reflecting on the car, since BMW NA is based in Jersey.

1999 740i Sport

Since we had registered, we didn't need to stand in line for another car, and we promptly chose a 740i. The 750iL was out, and I wanted the Sport package, not available on the 740iL. Here you can see the decor paint job found on all the Cure cars: gray, with checkered flags on the front and rear, with the Foundation scripted on both sides.

The Boy and his Bimmer...

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. The massive tires and M Parallels, plus M suspension make it totally fun. Dad loved the StepTronic (manumatic) transmission. The V12 750iL would have been cool too, but the 4.4 V8 was quick enough. And it stopped very fast as well (we tested). Drive Page 2 Pictures
