As the shock of hearing about the recent engagement of a Backstreet Boy who you THOUGHT was betroved to you, slowly diminishes and you realise the reality of something you thought would only happen when it involved you, i think it's important to remember that BSB are human aswell (come on, they tell us often enough!) I understand that's it's not easy to mumble that if they're happy then you're happy too (perhaps you can even force a smile), but in all seriousness they have lives to live and that seems to be what they're doing.
Kevin told MTV: "I'm engaged now. I just got engaged over the holiday. [We've been together] seven years, off and on. We've been through a lot together, but she knew me when I was a Ninja Turtle. I met her in the cafeteria at Walt Disney World. We were both working there. She was a dancer. She's been on Broadway, done lots of things… being in the business, she definitely has an appreciation for it. I mean, I'm not necessarily gonna say that you need somebody in the business, but you need somebody that can understand a lot."
I think that slightly eases the blow; it's quite easy to notice that he sounds as though he's seriously got it bad.
But I think what makes it harder to swallow is that Brian "voice of an angel" Littrell is also tieing the knot!!!
He also told MTV: "There's a right time for everything, I guess. It's kind of like the jumpstart on getting on with life, so I'm looking forward to it."
Sad? Immensely upset? Seriously contemplating why it isn't you? Wishing that it WAS you? I know, I know, it's hard to take in....2 fifths of Backstreet Boys taking a trip to the alter? Go Figure.
So, wil this be the inevitable end of the Backstreet Boys? I know some of you are screaming :" HELL YES- THE SELFISH BUGGERS!" and, in contrast, some of you are saying (quite peacefully 'cos, you know, you don't let much get up your noses), " Don't be silly. If they feel that they can juggle the Backstreet Boys AND be husbands at the sametime, then shut up and let them go for it."
Personally, I think it's a huge shock and no matter how much I tell myself that (sorry AJ) they're only a boyband and I shouldn't let myself get caught up in it, I feel myself feeling mixed emotions of congratulations for the couples, but also some solitude that no mater how much they try to prevent it, this will (as a result) effect the Backstreet Boys that we all know and love as musical artists.
Hmm...but I also get the feeling that perhaps I shouldn't be fixating so much on this, but more on the question: How long can a boy band go on?
