It begins with a dream... Mewtwo's dream...
He see's Mew, swimming under the ocean and flying above the mountains... "Are you there??" "Who are you?" Mewtwo cries... "Are you my mother?" "Are you my father?"
Overlooking the sea in a grassland on a cliff, Ash waits for Brock's stew to be ready at the table. Misty helps Brock. Pikachu finds Togepi at the edge of a cliff, and panics, he rushes to help him. Togepi stops just an inch from the edge, while Pikachu drops from it entirely. The cliff is not deep at the side, to Pikachu's relief.
Togepi chuckles at Pikachu when he see's him crawl up, then a man challenges Ash. Ash cheers up,and fights him with Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Pikachu, and wins. Then he receives an invitation card, the message is told by a beautiful woman in a holograph card.The sender is unknown, but the invatation is for all Pokemon trainers, and it says that they are to have the invitation in hand to get to Pokemon castle in New Island. Ash decides to accept the invitation.
A storm rages, waves from the sea make it impossible to launch any ships. Ash, Misty and Brock arrive at a port. They learn that there are many other trainers who were invited by the stranger, and that a female doctor from a Pokemon center has been missing for over a month.
Trainers ride the raged sea, with the help of their Pokemon that can move in the water or fly. Ash's and friends doesn't have pokemon strong enough to fight those wave. Just then a boat appears, and the two sailors(Vikings) offer a ride. Relieved, Ash accepts it.
As a huge wave assaults the boat , the helmets which the sailors wore came off and their hair was swept away from their faces, revealing who they really were. They were none other then the Team Rocket members, Jesse and James. Ash is astonished. At that time another huge wave comes, and they are all thrown out of the boat into the water. Misty sends Staryu, while Ash sends Squirtle, and Brock and his friends grab them. Then they finally reach the New Island they were invited to. Team Rocket arrives too a few minutes later.
They find only three trainers there : Sweet, Sorao, and Umio. The woman who appeared in the invitation card tells them to send their Pokemon from thier balls, and to everyones astonishment, they all obey her. They are even more astonished when the host appears, he is Mewtwo, the Pokemon who is unknown to them, but who calls himself the Master of all pokemon. It is out of question that a Pokemon is the trainer, which outrages all of the other trainers. The woman's condition suddenly changes, and she collapses. Brock raises her in his arms, finding her to be a female doctor who they earlier learned was missing. Yup that's right... it was Nurse Joy...
Trainers send some of their Pokemon to fight Mewtwo, but he beats them easily. Then he takes the trainers and Pokemon to a league field he made.
Jesse, James and Meowth of Team Rocket then sneak into the building, and they just happen to enter a laboratory. They find many huge tube there, some of them have Pokemon inside of them. As they wounder what is done there, Meowth is captured by a conveyer belt.
Mewtwo, being highly intelligent, studies there and successfully creats copies of Pokemon, that are stronger than the original. And they are not just copies, They have lives. Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise come out of tubes, then go to the league field, called by Mewtwo by telepathy.
Mewtwo knows that Sorao owns Venusaur, Sweet Blastoise, and Ash Charizard. He is proving copies are superior to the originals. It is his revenge for human beings who have created him, and then making use of him like a puppet on a string. The copies were stronger then the originals. They conquered the originals easily, disappointing the invited trainers. Mewtwo's revenge doesn't finish.
Mean while Team Rocket is in the laboratory. Mewtwo's flying poke'balls enter the lab along with the trainers' Pokemon. They are carried to the conveyer belt. As mechanical hands take one of the poke'balls, the computer analyzes the gene, and creats the copy. Pikachu's ball arrives, and Ash follows. The mechanical hands start stretching toward it...
Ash seizes it tight in both of his hands, as the mechanical hands reach it, too. Ash pulls, with all his might, and some mechanical hands grabbed him, too. Ash gives another strong pull. The mechanical hands which were on the ball and Ash are torn, and sparking. The computer also breaks, and Mewtwo's balls spits all Pokemon back out. Pikachu is saved too, and Ash hugs him tight in his arms.
It was Mew. Mewtwo shakes his whole body with mixed feelings, dread and delight that he would fight his original to prove he is superior. As they fight, the other Pokemon also battle with their copies hand-to-hand. The doctor says sadly, watching them fight, "They are copies, which have been created artificially, yet have lives, which are valuable equal to originals." Pikachu's copy appears, too. He glares at the original Pikachu, and beats him. Pikachu doesn't resist. He is hit by the copy's blow, and gets tossed away...
The Pokemon, both originals and copies, fight until they, collapse... Only Pikachu doesn't fight, though harshly beated by his copy. The copy shouts at him, "pika, pikachu! (Fight me!)" Pikachu shakes his head, refusing to counter. Tears well up to the copy's eyes, but he cannot stop himself while Mew fights Mewtwo. Crying, the copy continues to beat Pikachu. Finally the copy is exhausted and collapses. Pikachu takes to hold him tenderly.
Ash cannot stand to see them battle any longer. He dashes toward the spot were Mew and Mewtwo are fighting, crying, "Don't! Don't fight any longer!" Mew and Mewtwo shoot beams just at that moment, and they hit Ash. Screaming, Ash collapses to the ground.
All of the Pokemon, including Mew and Mewtwo, freeze and just watch him. "Pika pi!" Pikachu goes close to him, looking into his face. His body starts to stiffin, and goes rocky, right before Pikachu's eyes. Pikachu wonders at first what is going on, he sees his friend but he doesn't move, Pikachu shoots an electric beam at him, as he does instictively for fainted creatures. But Ash stays still. Pikachu tries once more, then over and over. Then he is too tired to shoot thunderbolts anymore, Ash doesn't recover. Tears well up to Pikachu's eyes, roll down his cheeks, and drop to the ground, quickly filtered into the soil. Other original and copy Pokemon begin to weep. Their tears wet the ground, and are conveyed to Ash through the soil. Even Mew and Mewtwo start to cry for Ash.
His body slowly softens , and he recovers finally. Pikachu hugs him, and Ash hugs back.
Mewtwo calls all the copied Pokemon by telepathy, and they floats up. Mewtwo now believes in his life, which is what he now knows to be valuable. Mewtwo and Mew leave to look for the place they can all live. Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock and all the other trainers and their Pokemon see them flying away. Now feeling for them, they say their good byes and part.
When Ash is aware, he is at the port with his friends, and all the other trainers. Now one remembers what happened in the island. The storm is over a moment later, and the sea recovers the peace, its surface brightening in the sunlight.
Peace once again...
Oh yeah... and Team Rocket made it out safe too...
"Jesse I'm all wet!!"
"Shut up James!!"
"Yeah shut up James!!"
Mewtwo, then opens his eyes, he is in a laboratory.He finds halfdozen a people in white clothes. They are scientists, who have created him and who cloned him, by genetically processing the cells of Mew, the rarest Pokemon on the earth. There goal... to create the strongest and smartest Pokemon in the world which was able to speak the human language.
Mewtwo's birth was not natural, but artificial. He recognizes this, and is confused and angered, and then he destroys the laboratory with a powerful psycic blast.
Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket (Rocket gang), takes him and makes him help them in the capturing of Pokemon. The mystery of his life was always on his mind, then Giovanni told Mewtwo that he was made to serve man. So in a show of strength and anger he destroys the base of TeamRocket, to be alone once more.
*He doesn't note Meowth at the head of the boat as the good luck charm*. Ash is in high sprits while in the boat, while Pikachu is scared of the big waves.
He struggles to escape, while mechanical arms pull three hair out from his tail. Meowth manages to escape, seeing the computer beside the conveyer; starts to work, and a copy of Meowth is formed in a tube.
Weird balls Mewtwo made flies across the field, each aiming at the original Pokemon and at the trainer's poke'balls. Mewtwo's balls capture them one after another, now leaving Pikachu. A dozen balls are sent to him.
He runs, sometimes shooting an electric beam. Ash is irratated by this, and wishes to be near Pikachu to help him. Finally, Pikachu is captured by a ball. Panicked, he runs after the strange ball which flies away.
Copies are summoned by Mewtwo and go to the league field. Ash and Pikachu follow them with originals. Then they see a small, white Pokemon appear there.
