1. Shinjiro Ohtani defeated "Wild Pegasus" Chris Benoit in a tournament final to win the title.

2. The title was vacated on June 11, 1998 in Buffalo, New York.

3. The title was awarded to Chris Jericho.

4. The title belt was returned to Chris Jericho because of the interference to Dean Malenko, who was suspended, during the title match on the previous day.

5. Psichosis defeated Rey Misterio Jr., Juventud Guerrera, and Blitzkrieg ina four-way match.

6. Psichosis was awarded the title when Lenny Lane was taken off WCW television.

7. Madusa is a female wrestler.

8. Oklahoma vacates the title.

9. TAFKA Prince Iaukea defeated Lash Leroux in a tournament final for the title.

10. Vince Russo vacated the title on April 10, 2000 in Denver, Colorado. Chris Candido defeated TAFKAP Iaukea, Juventud Guerrera, Crowbar, and Lash LeRoux to win the title.

11. Daphne pinned Tammy Lynn Sytch in a tag team match between Chris Candido and Sytch and Crowbar and Daphne to win the title.

12. Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Daphne and Disco Inferno in a three way match to win the title.

13. Title given to by Lance Storm.

14. This was the first WCW title change on a WWF television show.

15. Unifies the title with the WWF World Light-Heavyweight Title.

16. The title was renamed the WWF World Cruiserweight Title after the WWF defeated Team Alliance (WCW and ECW) on November 18, 2001.
