Nature v. Nurture

Your tongue wiggles its way into my mouth

Just like a bird, wild and small and singing.

Your fingers grace my back

Dancing like ten gentle foals.

It’s as though we’re two animals

Who can’t think, only feel.

But we’re just two people

Trying to make sense

But only causing more confusion.

My head fights my heart

Like two tigers, rams, lions.

I’m not a human, I’m an animal;

I’m not an animal, I’m a human.

I wish I knew what I was . . .

I wish I knew what I want . . .
