It turned out that I couldn’t stand Usagi and Rei for a whole weekend. In fact, I snapped on Saturday morning when they started fighting over who got to read a certain copy of a manga first. It was mostly because there were two more copies of it on the table in plain site. So I packed up, told Grandpa where I was going, and headed to Minako’s house. When I got there, she was still asleep, but her cat let me in. Sounds kinda weird, but he really did. Unlocked the window and everything. He even went and jumped on Minako until she woke up. Minako introduced him as, “Artemis, my cat and trusted confidant.” We had bacon, eggs, and pancakes for breakfast, which I made. We considered going to visit Usagi and Rei, but decided against it. “They’re probably either still fighting, or fighting again.” Minako said matter-of-factly.
We hung out for a while, ate lunch, and hung out some more. “Is there a gym around here anywhere?” I asked after sunning for two hours. “I’m not used to going so long without a good workout.” Minako looked at me as if I was weird, then giggled and stood up. “Sure is. I’ll go with you. I need to work on my abs anyway, and we might run into Mako.” While Minako wrote several letters to separate people, I took Artemis into the bedroom. “Okay, cat.” I said quietly. “I know you can talk, and I can read your mind. So save us both some trouble and tell me if this Mako person is a scout and where to find the rest of them.” He looked at me like I was nuts. Boy, was I getting that one a lot lately. But finally he said, “What do you know about the sailor scouts?” “I’m usually very kind to animals, but if you keep this up, I won’t hesitate to punch you and Miss Venus out there.” I said, almost casually, just as Minako walked in. “Did you just threaten my cat? And how did you know I was Sailor Venus?” She yelped, caught so completely by surprise that she didn’t even try to deny that she was indeed Sailor Venus. “I have my ways.” I said, trapping both her and Artemis inside magical force fields. Suddenly, I saw Rei break off in mid sentence to stare into space, her eyes narrowing. “Great. Just great.” I said, swearing in as many languages as I knew (that’s a lot). “That’s right, Hissori. Be an idiot and use magic. She’ll probably even figure out that I’m from the Negaverse now. How stupid can I be?” I punched the wall, forgetting exactly how strong I was, and left a hole that went all the way to the next room. Artemis stopped yowling, and Minako chewed on air before jumping on my back about ruining her wall. Just to quiet her down, I threw her henshin wand at her. “Transform.” I said, dropping the force field so abruptly that she fell over.
