Katelyn's Kabuki Syndrome Page

"My Darling Katelyn Rose"

The heart is for the strongest love from a mother to her her child,

And also for your difficult times when things got a little wild.

The cross bares it's symbol, for every prayer said for you,

Not only by your mother, but from others as well too.

Please let the beauty of your middle name surround the love and prayers,

And the banner will give it's courage to the name in which it bares.

For in this life we learn, there is a lot that we don't know,

But we, my child, will stand together, for the distance,

My darling, Katelyn Rose.

Katelyn was 5 months old when she went in for open heart surgery. The day after I went and got a tattoo (the picture above) and then wrote the poem about the tattoo. The meaning of the tattoo means so much more than just coloring on my skin.

Katelyn on her 5th birthday with her dog Dakata.

(We call Dakata "Nanny" she is always with Katelyn or watching her from a small distance away, but always knows where Katelyn is. She is very gentle with Katelyn) Katelyn will tell you straight out that Dakata is hers and hers only.

(Dakata and the other four legged children have a web site also. If you want to visit them go to the links page and click on the running Malamute)
