The Corpus Christi Hammerheads joined the SIFL in 2011 after leaving the IFL. Anthony Andre quarterbacked the team, throwing for 1,636 yards, 39 touchdowns and 15 picks through nine of ten regular season games. The team's schedule included two cancelled road games due to Lafayette and Mobile Bay folding. Two wide receivers caught eight touchdowns each, while three more tied for seven a piece. Corey Brittain amassed 425 yards and the team's longest touchdown reception of 47 yards. Jason Lee picked six passes and returned three for scores. The team's lone home loss came by a point to Houston. A late two-point conversion try did not succeed. The Hammerheads qualified for the playoffs and traveled to Louisiana for a 59-20 season-ending defeat.
